The Elizabeth Guest House is the home of Alice Mensendike and her son Andrew.  The Guest House is in the picturesque Village of Elizabeth Illinois...the Heart of Jo Davies County!  The Guest House is one of the oldest buildings in Elizabeth, it has the simple charms of the early 1930's rooming house.  The Sunshine Room is for one or two people it has a Queen size bed and a private bathroom.  The Cozy corner is for one to four people.  It is two bedrooms with a sitting area and a private bathroom.  Each room has a queen size bed. 

               The Guest House has a large porch area that we serve breakfast  of rolls, coffee and fruit in season.  The rolling hills and lush valleys of our beautiful Northern Illinois countryside are in the views from the ridges on the east and west approaches to village on U.S. Highway 20.  Located 12 miles from Galena and only minutes from the scenic Galena Territory and Chestnut Mountain Ski Resort.

                    People travel to visit in Elizabeth to explore The Apple River Fort History of the Indians Wars.  They explore the history of the life of three women named Elizabeth.  The Fort has reenactments and events of times long ago.  From the quaint Wedding Chapel to our luxurious golf course and ski resort, this area is rich in natural beauty and exciting attractions.  Weather you prefer gourmet dinning, river boat activities or strolling through one-of -a-kind shops. you will find the area provides the perfect setting for that get away vacation.
